I admit, King Theoden was pretty amazing. I did get angry at him during Two Towers when Aragorn is just trying to give him advice and he says "Last I checked, Theoden, not Aragorn, was king of Rohan," but otherwise he holds his own and does a great job of fighting and trying to save his people.
