I can't wait for the 50th Anniversary. I've been less than enthused by the latest seasons of Doctor Who, storyline-wise, so I'm hoping some familiar faces will help reignite the flame of nerdlove in me. Not that I don't love Eleven, he's quirky and fun, the recent arcs just haven't been as exciting and emotionally engrossing to me as the old ones.
I was directed to this wonderful, almost tear-inducing video by my favourite Viking Junior (the younger sister of my wonderful Viking roommate) and would recommend it to all Tennant fans, if you have 7 minutes or so of free time. Honestly, I would not be opposed to remaking all of Ten's seasons as a musical. I do miss me some Rose and Donna (and Micky).
In other news, you'd think that being in my last semester of Grad school, with only Capstone and half a class left I'd be half done with my work and relaxing. Yet somehow, with one class a week for the first half of the semester, I still find myself scrambling to get things done on time. Senioritis? Aren't I too old for that? Who knows, all I know is that if I don't have a business plan/power point presentation for a financially viable publishing company written out by the beginning of May, I'm screwed.
I've seen so many different videos of this song, and for some reason or another, they all make me much happier/are so much more awesome than the original video (in my opinion). This is the first one I saw after learning about the song, and I loved it. Maybe because it was absolutely ridiculous, maybe it's because I'm biased when it comes to anything Big Time Rush related, or maybe it's because they just look like they're having so much fun, because it seems to be a bunch of friends goofing around and being silly and not taking them selves seriously.
Regardless of the reason (and how catchy the song is), I can't help but love it and do recommend watching it, if only because it exists.
The other fun ones would the the Chatroulette version (absolutely hilarious), and the one with Jimmy Fallon.
Also, for some more awesomeness that is Valentine's themed (in the form of cartoons that are not only funny, entertaining, but also clever) I give you *drumroll*
Also, I'm back! Sorry for the disappearance, once again, but there was travelling and school starting occurring #firstworldproblems.
Anyway, I'm back now! So I'll try to remain consistent with the Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, random shite love! Didn't you miss me? *waggle*waggle*
I think I might have posted this before, but it's too good not to repost for the world. I mean, John Barrowman's reaction alone, if not the actual kiss, is brilliant. Also, it makes me happy. And swoon...I feel like it makes many many fangirls die a little every time.
First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR (to those on or East of the Prime Meridian)!
To celebrate this first day of humanity's last year on earth, according to the people who seem to think the Mayan's stopped producing calendars past the year 2012 because they were predicting the end of the earth, rather than it was simply the end of their 'calendar' cycle and they probably just figured they'd save themselves the trouble/extra work now and let the future generation continue once they got to that point (and lo and behold, they didn't have to bother), I present to you an amazing, heart-warming video.
I know it's the day after Christmas, but I did say I had a few videos I wanted to share, and I like keeping my word so here they are! They're both Doctor Who related, so I apologise to those that either aren't as obsessed as I am, or don't care (though, if you don't care, you're in the wrong place).
Lead singer and no 1/2 of Panic! At the Disco, whom I've always adored greatly for their fantastic lyrics (I'm pretending 9 in the Afternoon doesn't exist with that statement) and their fantastic style. Also, he's adorable so that helps.
If you haven't seen it yet, check out the video for "Ready to Go" because it's slightly trippy and has brilliant homages and a Fiddler on the Roof style dance section. The song is quite uplifting too, in my opinion. Now I'm off to try and learn In Design in less than a week in order to salvage my great for Introduction to Book Publishing and avoid the feeling of discouragement and utter hopelessness that I got when receiving my first assignment yesterday.
So...yeah.
I mean, at first I cringed at that long haired wig and that creepy goatee thing, but then he lounged and I died a little inside and then he said "well" in that way that he used to say as the Doctor, and I didn't even care anymore. I would have seen this movie regardless, but that single word just made it all the more exciting.
This wonderful televised gushing about Doctor Who was done on my birthday! Coincidence? I think not. Clearly both Craig Ferguson and Neil Gaiman were aware of my day of birth and my love of Doctor Who and decided to chat animatedly about it, not because of their own love/work on the show, but because they wanted to unofficially give me a gift of sorts.
:-)
Also, me and Craig Ferguson are the same person. The first 45 seconds was basically everything I've ever thought in those scenarios...with Ricky Martin (yes, I was surprised...apparently I'm the only one) and the Neil Gaiman books (read some, not all...and not American Gods just yet). I love him. Well, both of them. But...yeah I'll stop now. He rambles like I do (in my mind).
I've been on a Maroon 5 binge recently. I mean, who can blame me right? But really, I love more than Adam Levine and his complete and utter dapperness (yes, that word was used). There's something about their songs, especially the ones on their first album, Songs About Jane, that are soothing and relate-able and catchy, and just perfect to karaoke to ("Sunday Morning" and "She Will Be Loved" being magnificent examples of the latter). Which, of course, means that I've been listening to the most recent single (featuring the ever brilliant Christina Aguilera) "Moves Like Jagger" on repeat all day, with a little bit of "Misery" and a throw back to "The Sun" mixed in. At first, I not only had no idea wot on earth he was attempting to say, because I have this horrible habit of actually listening to the lyrics, but after the second time through it I couldn't get it out of my head. Which means that I love it (naturally).
There's no video yet, but I'm sure they'll make one soon and I'm equally certain that Mr. Levine will show us his moves in said video.
P.S. I don't care wot they say the lyrics are, he's definitely saying "now I'm naked," and not "now I make it."
P.P.S. I think my yearly quota for quotations has just been fulfilled in this singular post.
I'm so glad that I saw that episode of the Friday Night Project with David Tennant and understand the joke. If you guys haven't seen it yet, here are all five parts with David Tennant! I think the part where he mentions this nickname is three or four, but I might be wrong, and it is rather entertaining the whole way through so if you have the time you should check it out.
I'm just going to go ahead and say it: President Obama is a baller. If people weren't convinced before, then this should get the point across. That man is so 'G' he's almost 'H.' True story.
Yeah, more tears. I'm dreading next Thursday's episode, which isn't even the season finale, when Michael Scott actually leaves. I don't know if I can handle it, I don't know if I can do The Office without him.
I know I didn't post any lovely Doctor Who stuff yesterday, and was sorely lacking in the whole posting department, and I apologize profusely for that. Unfortunately, I cannot remedy that situation right now (i.e. I cannot post 8 million things in a row to make up for my lapse yesterday) because I have an internship to not be late for, and a Game of Thrones book to start reading (jumping on that bandwagon late, but if it redeems me in any way at all, I have made a deal with myself to not watch the show until I've finished reading it...well, not watch the episodes that correspond to each section I'm reading until I've read that section...it make sense if you're in my head/have friends who have both watched the first episode and have read the book and can bookmark where you can stop). I do promise to return later tonight with plenty of Whovian love.
To tide you over, I hope you accept this video of Sergio Ramos (i.e. Spaniard and Real Madrid right back) being a total fool and dropping the cup that Real had just won. You know, because not winning the Copa del Rey in 18 years wasn't bad enough, you have to go ahead and drop the thing from the top of your moving bus and let it get partially crushed. Good job Ramos, way to give the rest of the Spanish clubs a reason to laugh at us.
I'll say one thing though, it's rather entertaining to watch, especially since it seems like it's falling in slow motion (perfect for a Michael Bay movie, especially if the minute the bus runs over it, everything exploded). I'm just wondering why it took about 20 people to retrieve the cup, why it took so long for the bus driver to stop driving...I'm pretty sure the giant thing fell right in front of him, and so unless he was looking anywhere but straight ahead, he should have stopped immediately. Otherwise, maybe they should find another bus driver keeps his eye on the road. Oh yes, they should also probably leave the cup carrying to Casillas, or Pepe, or maybe Kheidra (he's scary looking, the cup wouldn't dare leave his hands and try to commit suicide lest he bring it back to life simply to crush it with his own hands).
On the bright side, at least this did not happen during their tour of Madrid with the world cup. Cause that would have been unforgivable.
