Happy New Year! (Gift: Meme Marriage Proposal)

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR (to those on or East of the Prime Meridian)!

To celebrate this first day of humanity's last year on earth, according to the people who seem to think the Mayan's stopped producing calendars past the year 2012 because they were predicting the end of the earth, rather than it was simply the end of their 'calendar' cycle and they probably just figured they'd save themselves the trouble/extra work now and let the future generation continue once they got to that point (and lo and behold, they didn't have to bother), I present to you an amazing, heart-warming video.

David Tennant's face of the day

That smirk. He's not even pretending that his statement isn't suggestive, because he damn well knows that it is.

Soon, the year will be new. I should probably think of some resolutions to break to try and stick to. After all, it is going to 2012, and we all know the world ends on December 21st of 2012. So, why not make this last year a particularly good one?

On the other hand, if it's going to be my last year on earth, maybe I should just say 'screw you' to resolutions and do wotever it is I feel like doing. Twenty-two years is a long time to be an introvert.

David Tennant's face of the day

This man continues to astound me with his ability to just look so good.

Stephen King: Like a Boss

Dear Mr. King,

I've always loved your writing, whether it was horror or fantasy, but you have outdone yourself this time sir. Thank you for being incredibly awesome.

Love,
Yazya

P.S. I really don't care if this is fake. It's still brilliant.

Mind. Blown.

The Hardest Decision You'll Ever Make

Oh no...I actually have no idea which I would pick. I've always wanted to go to Hogwarts, but being a Jedi would be incredible...and imagine training Pokémon! I'm just glad that 'being the Doctor's next companion' wasn't on there as well, because I would just die from indecision.

Legolas, cardboard style

I have one of these. A Legolas, not the DVD's or romance novels that he seems to be holding. Also, I have a Ninth Doctor life size cardboard cut out and a Joker one (Heath Ledger style). If I'm going to be an obsessive nerd, I'm going to do it right. It helps that my friends encourage it by purchasing such things.

Robert Downey Jr.: On Monkeys

I love how, instead of thinking 'why get a monkey?' his thoughts are "why get ONE monkey?'

Smoreboard

I got extremely hungry just looking at my keyboard after seeing this for the first time. I'm afraid of wot I may do in my sleep, accidentally. On the bright side, there is food in the fridge (because I'm back in the Motherland, as opposed to at home in New York where the only food seems to be week old leftovers, some bell peppers, and healthy cereal), so if I'm really desperate, I could slink in and get me a 4am snack.

On Geese

Source: epimethius.tumblr.com

I don’t like geese.

Scratch that, I hate geese.

Now that might seem entirely random, but I figured I’d share regardless. They’re not very nice creatures, in my humble opinion, and I’m pretty sure that most of my psychological traumas have risen from the fowl creatures (oh yes, you read correctly, I went there). Why do I have such a burning hatred against geese? (Though the question should be why I feel the need to discuss this hatred with you, oh avid reader.) Well, to put it simply, because they scarred me at a very young age. Not just emotionally (or psychologically, as I’ve mentioned before) but also physically. And they did not even have the decency to provide me with any cool powers to make up for it.

Peter Parker got spider powers, Harry Potter got the ability to speak to snakes, all I got was a scar. Not even a badass one that I could claim was inflicted by some marauding pirates that I fought off with my hands tied behind my back as I wielded a sword with my teeth, but one that can only really be seen if I scrunch up my face >.< (like that) and point it out.

Nativity Scene: a la Doctor Who

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere in the Bible that this is actually how it happened.

We wish you a Zombie Christmas!

Would I be a bad person if I said that the idea of fighting zombies is quite thrilling to me? I mean, I'm sure I'll also be scared out of my mind if the dead started to rise and attempted to eat people, and I would definitely be extremely worried about my friends and family...but a small part of me just can't help but pull imaginary sleeves up and think 'bring it on!'

Clearly, I'm highly confident in my ability to survive, the first wave at least. No way to know for sure until it happens.

Harry Potter: A Musical

Now I have Hakuna Matata stuck in my head. And I've lost the game. Damn it.

Would it make me 'that guy,' if my second instinct (after bopping to the tune, of course) was to think: technically, there already is a Harry Potter Musical (because, you know, A Very Potter Musical is amazing, and exists)?

Apparently, I got into college even while submitting the below as my personal statement. Now, as a random stream of consciousness piece, I think it's not bad at all...but rereading it almost five years later makes me question the sanity of the person on the admissions committee of NYU that read it and though 'Yes! We need to have this girl attend our school!"
Without further delay, I give you me, five to six years ago:

Men in Black III

If you haven't seen the MiB 3 trailer yet, you're missing two minutes or so of utter epicness. Go see it now. Actually, don't go anywhere:

Enjoy.

Santa Gremlin

Source: flavorpill.tumblr.com
I'm not sure if the '12 days of Christmas' are supposed to end on Christmas day, or start on it (though I'm sure google would tell me, if I asked), but I quite like this Christmas theme that I'm still seeing on the internet, so I figured why not and share. Sharing is caring after all.

On another note, I've discovered some old papers I had written in high school, as well as my personal statement so I might just post parts of those for my own amusement. I mean, I've already graduated so it's not like they can reread wot I had written and then change their mind about the acceptance. Right? Guys? *cricket*

Christmas (video) presents for all my Whovians out there

I know it's the day after Christmas, but I did say I had a few videos I wanted to share, and I like keeping my word so here they are! They're both Doctor Who related, so I apologise to those that either aren't as obsessed as I am, or don't care (though, if you don't care, you're in the wrong place).

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas once again!
(And, just because there's still 50 hours, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that people will support this well deserved project: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cocoabash/what-the-f-is-going-on)

Merry Christmas!

Source: dv8r71.deviantart.com
Hallo all! It's officially Christmas on this side of the Atlantic, so I wanted to wish all of you a lovely, wonderful, Christmas! I'm going to be travelling later today to the Motherland, which should be fun, so I thought I'd send some Christmas spirit early so that I'm not abandoning this blog, once more. Also, who doesn't love Doctor Who themed madness?

I have a couple of lovely videos that I'm sure all of you will find wonderful, if you're fans of Doctor Who, but you're just going to have to wait for those.

Aaaand, since it is Christmas, if you haven't already been already directed here from my last post, you should check out my Moon's kickstarter project, and, if you can, donate to it! Because it will be awesome, and the world needs more awesomeness. Also, it would most definitely be much much appreciated.

Winter Wonderland

I am absolutely in love with this song/this particular version of it. I don't know wot it is about Jason Mraz and his singing style that automatically makes everything better, but I think it has to do with the fact that he just sounds like he's having so much fun singing. The happiness practically drips from his voices and through the speakers; it's infectious.

#swagrid

Listen, just cause he's half giant doesn't mean that Hagrid can't have some swag. It takes a lot of it to be the Keeper of Keys and Grounds of Hogwarts.

David Tennant's face of the day

Source: notabadday.tumblr.com
I'm going to apologise profusely for being M.I.A. and try and defend myself by saying it's finals week. I've only got one final (accounting) and one presentation left, but it might as well be a million, considering how these last three days have been.

In the land of Mordor, where the shadows lie

Source: www.pelennors. tumblr.com

Three rings for the Elven-kings under the sky
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die
One for the dark lord on his dark throne
In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie
One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them
One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them
In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie

That, I am proud to say, was written without having to look up the poem itself. Yes, I am proud of slight nerdiness and my memory. It makes me feel a whole lot better about the whole two-weeksish-of-school-that-are-filled-with-final-projects-and-presentations thing. All of which have been started, mind you, none of them happen to be done though. All right, shit is about to get real, I'm writing a to do list for tomorrow!
