The Clock Strikes Midnight

Source: donsrice.tumblr.com
If you haven't heard who the new Doctor is yet...where on earth have you been?

This Buzzfeed article should sum it, and the internet, all up.

I'm a little upset at Steven Moffat's reaction at Helen Mirren's quote. I'm all for the Doctor remaining male, (despite being a woman myself) but there's a classier and much more diplomatic way to deal with it like "it just didn't feel like the right time," etc. that doesn't involve sounding like a sexist ass. Cause, last I checked, the Queen is not a fictional character that can regenerate her look instead of dying.

Anyway, I'm more than excited to see what Peter Capaldi has in store for us as the Doctor. I'm also interested to see whether they're gonna tackle the whole he was in an episode with Ten/in Torchwood paradox.

David Tennant's Face of the Day

Source: renlybaratheeon.tumblr.com
I can't wait for the 50th Anniversary. I've been less than enthused by the latest seasons of Doctor Who, storyline-wise, so I'm hoping some familiar faces will help reignite the flame of nerdlove in me. Not that I don't love Eleven, he's quirky and fun, the recent arcs just haven't been as exciting and emotionally engrossing to me as the old ones.

So many things to do, so little time. I'm sorry for neglecting you and depriving you of the brilliance that is David Tennant's face.

Tenth Doctor: The Musical

I was directed to this wonderful, almost tear-inducing video by my favourite Viking Junior (the younger sister of my wonderful Viking roommate) and would recommend it to all Tennant fans, if you have 7 minutes or so of free time. Honestly, I would not be opposed to remaking all of Ten's seasons as a musical. I do miss me some Rose and Donna (and Micky).

In other news, you'd think that being in my last semester of Grad school, with only Capstone and half a class left I'd be half done with my work and relaxing. Yet somehow, with one class a week for the first half of the semester, I still find myself scrambling to get things done on time. Senioritis? Aren't I too old for that? Who knows, all I know is that if I don't have a business plan/power point presentation for a financially viable publishing company written out by the beginning of May, I'm screwed.

David Tennant's Face of the Day

Source: leandruskis.tumblr.com
Because it's been way too long since his face his graced this blog.

Also, if you guys don't already watch Psych, please do. It's a funny, nerdy, and smart detective series with absolutely amazing guest stars (Mohinder from Heroes, Kennan, Urkel, Daniel-Son, Freddie Prinze Jr., the list just goes on and on). As the seasons progress (there are 6 so far, 16 episodes each, with the 7th starting soon) they get better and better.

Basically, it's highly recommended.

Merry Christmas!

To me, nothing really says "Christmas" like a roaring fireplace, some hot tea, and Home Alone, so it was a wonderful pleasure that I got to introduce my l3 year-old brother to that timeless classic last night. Tonight, Home Alone 2!

Just wanted to wish you all a wonderful Christmas, and if I disappear for another ten years, a Happy New Year!

I'll just leave you with these series of gifs:

P.S. Sorry for the messed up formatting, Blogger just hates me.

David Tennant's Face of the Day

Source: davidennanttwitter.blogspot.com
This picture, that face, is how I feel right now.

In the process of writing out my Capstone proposal for my next, and final, semester of Graduate School. It's frightening, especially knowing that if they reject my idea, I have no backup that seems feasible at the moment (read: No back up. Period). And they have a tendency to reject ideas.

I mean, how hard could it be to come up with a creative, novel, competitive, well thought-out digital/print or print-only publishing endeavor in an age where the publishing industry is changing rapidly and consistently while systematically coming up with how funding will be acquired, how your product will be marketed, and basic costs and revenues?

Wish me luck.

Mad Man with a Box

Source: littleappletree.tumblr.com

I love this gif, even though I wish the little pictures of Tennant and Eccly where bigger. Beggars can’t be choosers eh?

You know wot’s not fun? Food poisoning while on vacation. That’s super not fun. But it made me realize that Green Tea is the savior of all things, so I’m going to be drinking that like nobody’s business from now on. Yay antioxidants?

A belated Happy Eid to everyone (and Happy Ramadan before that). My wonderful little brothers got me a 3DS as an Eid gift (for those who don't know, Eid is like Muslim Christmas, except we get two a year...that's clearly the worst/most simplified/completely lacking in substance explanation you'll ever find on Eid so please don't go writing that in academic essays or anything) to replace my old one that decided it no longer wanted to be with me. It's pink, which is up there with my least favourite colours (although with the way I've been dressing recently, the hot pink dye in my hair, and the purple/pink Big Time Rush shirt I'm wearing, you'd be inclined to think otherwise), but it was also purchased with a copy of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance which is absolutely awesome. so all was forgiven.

Ever since the first Kingdom Hearts I've been waiting for a game where I got to play as Riku, whom I instantly fell in love with, but Square Enix/Disney deprived me of that in the second one, and the plethora of handheld ones thereafter. I'm still waiting for a full length console Kingdom Hearts to come out (*cough*Kingdom Hearts 3*cough*), but till then I think I'll settle for the 3DS game, which is quite fun in its own right. Other must buys if you get a 3DS is Resident Evil: Revelations (thankfully, they only make me wait a few years between the epic console games...Resident Evil 6 in October!) and Mario Kart 7.

I'm going to go back to dying now. Let's hope food can be consumed soonly, at the very least before heading back to New York in two days. Would hate to start off my last year of Grad school/in the city I call home by being dead.

David Tennant's Face of the Day

Source: good-oldfashionedvillain.tumblr.com
So, I feel like everyone should know by now but I for one was extremely excited to find out that Benedict Cumberbatch would be playing the villain in the new Star Trek. There's just something about actors from different fandoms crossing over to other fandoms I adore that make me giddy, if only to see if I can catch elements of wot they portray so well (in our dear Mr. Cumberbatch's case, that would be the logic/analytic/detached qualities of Sherlock) in these new characters.

And then, I learned today (after managing to convince my computer that there was in fact internet in the house that it could connect to, the router being a few feet away and all) that my first Doctor would be playing the villain in the new Thor movie!

I haven't seen Eccly in quite some time, and I've truly missed his face and big ears, so I can't wait to see him be all evil opposite my other favourite Chris (Hemsworth). You can read more about it at The Mary Sue.

Ramadan Musings '12 - Day 1

3:36pm, Mordor Standard Time
Approx 3hrs and 40ish minutes till sunset

I’m not hungry, but that’s nothing new, I have a tendency to forget that I haven’t eaten on normal days. Wot I *am* is thirsty, and all I can think is ‘the first cut is the deeeepest, baby I know.’ It’s the closest I’ve got to a pep talk.

It's that time of year when I'm seriously considering rewatching the new series of Doctor Who. I still have to catch up on The Mentalist and White Collar, among other things, but my heart yearns for Eccly and Tennant right now. If internet were not deplorable, I'd be streaming it on Amazon...I was going to type out 'Netflix' but those...lovely lovely people *cough*....are telling me that it's not available in my region.

Also, Big Time Rush. Yeah, bringing them back up again, because I love them and have managed to get others to do so to. Now, don't get me wrong, it's all silly and they are nothing but a boy band at the end of the day, but (as I think I said once, a long time ago), if you ever need anything nice and light and entertaining and full of ridiculousness and fun, go watch the show. Ignore the absurdity of the premise and give it a shot. Don't knock it till you've tried it.

The Doctor Flounders

I can't believe I got to see this live.

Anyway, back to trying to help my friends raise money for an awesome project! Pass this around, spread the word if you can! Doctor Who geeky home things to come once the site actually launches! I apologise for the plethora of exclamation marks, I am legitimately excited for this to pan out.

David Tennant's face of the day

Source: iwearastetsonnow.tumblr.com

In Washington (D.C.) now, for a last ditch attempt at having a vacation like spring break. Which, so far, has not failed. Granted, I've only been here for an hour or so, after a four hour bus ride, but it is a different location and the weather is wonderfully sunny, so I'm okay with it. I do lament the lack of water and sand to go along with the sun, but I think I can make do (for now).

Because I love you, you get two. I also just really like the way the pictures are softened.

David Tennant's (long overdue) face of the day

Source: piratespond.tumblr.com

I won't even bother with explanation at this point. It's always the same thing, by the time I get home at the end of the day I'm way too exhausted to look at anything other than Netflix. Phineas & Ferb has taken over my nights, and I'm loving it.

Bright side? Spring Break. Not going anywhere that I know of (you'd be surprised at how many times I end up doing things I was previously unaware I was going to be doing...don't be dirty, though that is wot she said), not doing anything...other than a lot of school work actually...but it should mostly be fun, relaxing times.

I hope the weather agrees with me. In the meantime, accounting research for a hypothetical Sci-Fi/Fantasy exclusive, e-book original YA publishing house. Guess wot we're, hypothetically, calling it. I'll give you a hint, it has to do with our lovely Mr. Whedon.

David Tennant's face of the day

Source: edmacfarlane.tumblr.com

Anyone else think this is highly depressing? I'm sure that a bunch of fans shared that moment too though, once they realized wot it was, and then went back and replayed it over and over. I might do that one day have a repeat of the 'Final Tenth Doctor sonic moment.' Or, even better!, just watch clips of him sonici-ng things back to back.

David Tennant's face of the day

Source: lazoey.tumblr.com

I know I've put up many versions of these pictures throughout my almost year of using this blog, but I really couldn't care less. If he were less beautiful, maybe it'd be an issue. Also, I think I'm trying subconsiciously trying to make up for my week (play along) of absence. So...here's six faces! Woooo!
